"Anti-Semitism Makes You Stupid"

It is an axiom I developed that states: "Anti-Semitism makes you stupid." I have seen it proven time and time again. Such as when a poll of Arabs in the Palestinian Authority showed that most respondents felt the terrorist war on Israel had made life worse for them, but the overwhelming majority of the respondents also replied that they supported continued terrorist attacks on the Jews.

Most recently, we have seen the stupidity of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, president of Iran, who said, to paraphrase: There was no Holocaust, and we'll be happy to help the Europeans finish the job.

Let's review:

December 14, 2005 - "They have fabricated a legend under the name Massacre of the Jews, and they hold it higher than God himself, religion itself and the prophets themselves," Ahmadinejad said. "If somebody in their country questions God, nobody says anything, but if somebody denies the myth of the massacre of Jews, the Zionist loudspeakers and the governments in the pay of Zionism will start to scream."

January 1, 2006 - "Don't you think that continuation of genocide by expelling Jews from Europe was one of [the Europeans'] aims in creating a regime of occupiers of [Jerusalem]?" government-run Islamic Republic News agency reported Ahmadinejad saying.

And, previous to all of the above, on October 26, 2005, Ahmadinejad told attendees of a conference in Teheran that "Israel should be wiped off the map." The conference was headlined "A World Free of Zionism". "The establishment of the State of Israel was an act of aggression," the Iranian president declared, "The Islamic nation will not allow its historic enemy to exist within it."

So, let us see if we have this straight, Mahmoud.

1. The Europeans did not carry out any attempted genocide of the Jews. It's a "myth".

2. But they are attempting to continue and complete that genocide of the Jews by the establishment of the Jewish State of Israel among Muslims.

3. And you, Mahmoud, are willing to see the Muslims oblige the Europeans in continuing their genocide. That same genocide that was a myth.

I think I got it now. You're stupid. You're an anti-Semite and you're stupid and you've (almost?) got a nuclear bomb.

Boy, I hope IDF Chief of Staff Dan Halutz was right when he said that Iran's nuclear capabilities "could be destroyed."

A Chanukah Lesson From Shimon the Hasmonean

"It is not a foreign land we have taken, nor is it over strangers' property we have ruled; rather, it is our inheritance that was illegally conquered at one time, and when we were able to do so, we returned it to our possession."

Thus replied Shimon the Hashmonai, one of the brothers leading the rebellion that became known as Chanukah, to an envoy of King Antiochus IV who had demanded that the Jews return control of the cities they had liberated from the Seleucid empire (First Book of the Hashmonaim [I Maccabees] 15:33-34). Short, sweet and to the point.

Don't such words need to be repeated again today?

When Jewish sovereignty returns to Jerusalem, the city of the Jewish King David, "it is not a foreign land we have taken." When a Jewish soldier raises the flag of Israel over the tomb of the Biblical patriarchs, forefathers of the Jewish nation, in Hevron, it is not "over strangers' property we have ruled."

The Arabs, preceded by Romans, and interspersed with various Europeans and Turks, repeatedly conquered and absorbed the lands of Judea, the Land of Israel, into their expanding empires. No single nation, including the Arabs, ever established an independent state in the Land of Israel since the previous Jewish commonwealth. Thus, "it is our inheritance that was illegally conquered" again and again.

In 1948 and in 1967, the Arabs launched or prepared to launch what they openly billed as wars of extermination against the Jews of Israel. Each time - how supremely ironic - Israel expanded its rule over more and more of the historical land of the Jews. Or, in short, "when we were able to do so, we returned it to our possession."

Sof pasuk.

Lies That Don't Surprise

In an important news report on Arutz Sheva - Israel National News, correspondent Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu reveals the latest lie our government - including its "military wing" - is trying to sell the public ahead of upcoming national elections.

Excerpts from the report:
IDF Chief of Staff Dan Halutz said Thursday terrorism has gone down since the expulsion and withdrawal from Gaza and northern Samaria, but statistics on suicide bombings show the opposite.

In an interview, Halutz said, "the level of terror has gone down significantly." He also advised to take recent terrorist attacks in proportion and not to interpret every "sound" as "noise." Halutz stated, "Pay attention to how many attacks there were [before the expulsion and withdrawal] and how many there are now."

Statistics show that terrorism actually has increased and has not decreased. Suicide bombers struck six times in 2005, twice before the expulsion of Jewish residents from the Gaza and northern Samarian regions and four times afterwards.

....

The number of rockets and mortar shells on Israeli targets has sharply increased since the expulsion, with 130 attacks from January through July, the eve of the expulsion, and 179 since then.
Considering that all of the leading security officials in the Israeli military and intelligence communities who expressed reservations about Ariel Sharon's Gaza-Samaria Disengagement Plan were "let go" ahead of the plan's implementation, is this deliberate misinformation really a surprise?
